Shooting Team
I have officially been named to the Alpha Omega Xi shooting team at school!!! Our first competition is October 19-21 in Columbia, South Carolina! I'm so excited!!
Since I cannot afford to buy a weapon of my own at this time, I am paired up with someone who does have a weapon. Luckily he has the very same weapon we practice with at school ... a Glock 17. So we'll be practicing at the range in Forest Park every couple of weeks in order to be familiar with the very weapon we will use in competition.
Yesterday at shooting practice, I actually beat this guy ... by only 1 point BUT it was still beating him for once!! I was happy to say the least and I made everyone take notice and write it down in the history books ;)
Anyway, the Criminal Justice team has several components to it and they are academics, shooting, physical agility and crime scene analysis (complete with sketching, narrating and figuring out what happened).
I wish everyone could be there but I know that it is a wee far for most folks, not to mention it costs money to stay there ... but if you'd like to go, let me know, as there are tickets that have to be purchased.

I am soooo proud of you, and what you have accomplished, I know it was no small feat.
Good luck at the competition, I wish I could come see you , but I have started keeping Gabe & Steph's kids while they work.

Tam, I'm very proud of you, too. I'm also a pretty good shot! Good luck in the competition. Would love to be there and see you, but as you say, it is a wee bit far.
